ABOUT US

We have over 35 years of experience. Our Dachshunds are registered with the AKC (American Kennel Club) and APRI (America's Pet Registry, Inc.). Our kennel dogs are micro chipped for their protection.

Our first start was with two Collies (1972), Dell received a CD title. In 1974 we got our first two Dachshunds for showing while living in Anchorage Alaska.

We returned to the lower 48 in January 1975 but by November 1976 we were living in the United Kingdom of England and obtained our first show quality Bull Terrier (Bella). After returning to the U.S. in late 1979 (by then our parents who were keeping the Dachshunds and subsequently would not let us have them back due to falling in love with them,) we completed our first US Championship title with Ch Sequoiah Sans Souci (Bella). We retired Bella from the show ring but she loved the ring so much that we went for a CD title (but she was getting up in age by this time), she did not obtained her CD certificate because she could no longer hear very well and did not recall upon command during testing in a very noisy outdoor environment in California, however she did receive two legs.

1980 was the year that Dorothy received special recognition from the Air Force and the local community for finding homes for all the dogs in the base animal shelter.

After almost 10 years of showing Bull Terriers with extensive showings in England, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Kansas, and California we finally settled down with Dachshunds. We do love Dachshunds but we will always hold a special place in our heart for Bella and her breed.

We finally left the show ring because of the politics during those years. We still show from time to time but very limited and mostly just for the fun of it when the mood comes over us. You may see us attending and watching the Dachshunds, Frenchies, and Bull Terriers. Dorothy will occasionally show a Frenchie for Linda McKee.

Dorothy and I have been married for more than 31 years. I retired from the USAF in 1992 after more than 20 years and I am currently employed by state. We live on about 10 acres in south Texas brush country about 35 miles south of San Antonio.

Our kennel is completely covered and with a concrete floor. Part of the kennel is enclosed with air condition and heat. We have recently built a puppy show room for the comfort of our visitors and puppies.

I do the web site and started the first web site in the early 90's on a Geocities free web. In less than a year we had our on dot com address and reached a million hits by around the year 2000. The stretched out dachshund divider line and the animated weiner mail box below was created by me.
